Core Cider House

Apple Shed Farmers Market | Pick Your Own

Pick Your Own Fruit – On their 4th generation run orchard Core has 7000 trees, including 8 varieties of apple, 4 varieties of pear, 3 varieties of plums as well as quince, pomegranates, persimmons, oranges and lemons.  In summer (January and February), the trees are groaning with delicious plums, in autumn (March, April and May), you are spoilt for choice with pears, apples, persimmons, pomegranates and quince available, and in winter (July and August), it’s juicy oranges.  In springtime there’s no fruit to pick, but the orchard is alive with glorious blossoms to view.

But, as Core is a working orchard, all this is only available on an organised tour.
Further information and booking details here

Apple Shed Farmers Market – From the start of plum harvest in early summer to the end of autumn, you can enjoy the freshly picked fruits of Core’s orchard, sample the range of Core’s preservatives and enjoy other delights in the historic Apple Shed every weekend.

Enjoy apples, plums, oranges, pears, persimmons, quince, pomegranates and more – straight from Core’s farm to you; no food miles!  While you’re there, check out the ’57 Chev truck, a Core icon, which has been in the family since, well, 1957!

Fruit Loop

During the harvesting months depending on what fruit is available.

>Thursday - Friday: 11am -5pm
>Saturday & Sunday: 10am - 5pm

Fruit Loop operates from a small, family-run orchard in Pickering Brook. The farm gate is open to those wanting fresh fruit at fair prices that truly reflects the heart and soul of the work required to grow it.

Fruit Loop is open during the fruit harvesting months of December to April. Throughout the season varieties of apples, pears, stone fruit, figs and persimmons are handpicked - along with some plums unique to our orchard. You won't know what real fruit tastes like until you try one picked straight off the tree.

A few things to note:
Fruit Loop is not a shop, rather a "get to know the grower" experience. Fresh fruit is available for purchase from the shed door. Please BYO bags and boxes and small notes and change.

Also, the property is a working orchard and for their safety children must be supervised at all times. The orchard itself is strictly out of bounds to the public unless prior permission has been granted. Strictly no dogs or smoking on the property.
