Best walking trails close to Perth
It’s a beautiful spring day and you want to fill your lungs with some fresh outdoor air and take a wander in the bush. But where can you go close to Perth?
The Perth Hills offers the best access to the bush only 30 minutes from Perth and has a huge variety of walk trails to choose from.
For a short stroll with a fantastic view across Perth, Lesmurdie Falls is a great option. From the car park on Falls Road, Lesmurdie, you can access a variety of trails but most people head down to the two viewing platforms overlooking the stunning waterfall and on a good day you can even see out to Rottnest Island. Spring is a great time to visit as the falls are still falling, however anytime of the year, the view is pretty spectacular.
Rocky Pool is another great spot that has been really captivating visitors recently with photos going viral on social media. A bit of a longer walk but a great half-day trek which will give you a real sense of the pristine environment within the hills.
Kalamunda is also home to the northern terminus of the iconic Bibbulmun Track and although the full 1000km isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, you can walk sections of the track for day walks or camp at the first night stop. Check out more details on this world-famous track here.

Many of the walk trails listed on our website are dog friendly, please keep your dogs on leads unless signage permits otherwise.
