So, you’ve decided to pop the question, but now you’re looking for the perfect place and idea that’s just a little different?

Well look no further, the Perth Hills are perfect for that surprise proposal and we’ve put together 5 suggestions that’ll take you beyond Valentine’s Day to help you out.

1. Golden View Lookout Get active and take short walk to the Golden View Lookout at South Ledge,. The Lookout provides spectacular panoramic views over Lake CY O’Connor, the Mundaring Weir and the Helena River Valley. It’s a magical place at dusk and will set the scene perfectly.

2. Plume Estate Winery

Book a table at one of the most scenic wineries in the beautiful Bickley Valley, Plume Estate Winery. When making a booking, let Audrey or Jim in on your secret and they’ll make sure you receive the best views in the house.

3. Victoria Reservoir Head to the heart of the Perth Hills and tackle the Victoria Reservoir 7-km loop trail. It’s a fun little adventure and there’s a beautiful grassed area beneath the dam to set a picnic up for your love.

4. Zig Zag Scenic Drive The Zig Zag Scenic Drive isn’t just a fun drive down the hill, it’s also full of scenic little bends where you can park and watch the sun set over the City. The main bend half-way down the Drive also has a short trail walk that will lead you to the top of Statham’s Quarry. The view from there is nothing short of breathtaking.

5. Perth Observatory There is nothing more romantic than a spot of star gazing, and the folks at the Perth Observatory have just the thing for romantics - a grand tour of the Southern Hemisphere’s sky! The very popular Night Sky tours run year-round, and with a few proposals under their belts, the friendly staff at the Observatory are always willing to help you with the planning of yours.
