Kalamunda Music Festival

After successfully launching the weekend-long Kalamunda Music Festival in August last year, dynamic festival coordinators Andrew and Mandy Osenton and their dedicated bunch of volunteers and musicians are back for 2020. This year, however, it's going to be a little different.

In these unusual times, the festival team recognised the massive impact the pandemic has had on the arts industry, in particular musicians who rely on performing live. With that in mind, they decided the best way to support the sector was to move the 2020 Kalamunda Music Festival forward and online in an attempt to raise funds for the musicians involved.

On Saturday 23 May, the festival will stream live and recorded performances by Perth musicians, with a focus on local musicians, from a specially created Facebook group. There will be a system in place where the public can donate online to the musicians (or to an individual musician) if they wish to.

Organiser Andrew is encouraging any musicians who are interested in performing live in the Facebook group or wish to record a video performance for the group, to contact him through the Kalamunda Music Festival Facebook page

It's a well-known fact that your brain is better on music, and what better way to boost your dopamine and lower your cortisol than to spending the day listening to some of Perth's best musicians with the Kalamunda Music Festival.
