WA Day Long Weekend
Updated: May 30, 2019
It’s the last long weekend until the end of September, so we’ve put together a Perth Hills itinerary so you can maximise your three days off. From market browsing to wine tasting, we have a little something for everyone.
The long-running Kalamunda Artisan Markets is back in action and feature’s 170+ art, craft and gourmet food stalls for you to browse at your own pace. Once you’ve explored the market stalls, we recommend a wander in central Kalamunda to discover the boutique shops then grab a table at The Vault Restaurant for lunch to watch the world go by. Opens: 8.30am - 2.00pm Location: Central Mall, Kalamunda
One of Kalamunda’s newest restaurants, The Vault is perched on Haynes Street and offers the casual diner an Italian-Style menu. The owners and staff at The Vault are dedicated to bringing people together over delicious food and drink, and it shows. From the warm and welcoming atmosphere at the door to excellent food and service, you’ll leave the restaurant feeling full and content. Opens: 11.00am - 10.00pm Location: 21 Haynes Street, Kalamunda
After lunch, take a short stroll to the Zig Zag Cultural Centre at the top of Haynes Street and check out the newest exhibition at the Zig Zag Gallery. This weekend the gallery is home to the Contradiction & Contrast an exhibition showcasing a diverse range of art works through the colour spectrum and techniques of textile art. Opens: 10.00am - 4.00pm Location: 50 Railway Road, Kalamunda
Once you’ve had your cultural fill, wander back down the hill to the autumn wonderland that is Stirk Park. The park is a popular location in the Kalamunda area for get-togethers and family picnics with lots of open space and beautiful mature trees that put on a pretty autumn show every year. Location: Elizabeth Street, Kalamunda
DISCOVER PERTH’S SECRET VALLEY

The area is home to over fourteen producers, with a number of them winning State and National award for wine and cider. Many of the venues have restaurants attached to their cellar doors, where you can taste the freshest Hills produce sourced directly from the farm gate.
