Perth Birds & Bush

Explore Tours Perth

On an Explore Tours Perth day tour to the Bickley Valley you will get to experience the best of what the Valley has to offer. You will visit four or five vineyards and a cider house to try some premium wines and cider (along with a delicious cheese platter), as well as enjoying lunch with a glass of wine or cider accompanied by glorious views of the surrounding valley - all included in the price.

Discovery Tour: Experience close encounters with native animals and explore interactive displays. 10am - 12noon, Thursdays and Sundays

Nocturnal Tour: Meet some amazing critters and passionate wildlife carers on this after-dark guided tour. 7pm - 9pm, 1st Friday and 2nd Saturday each month

Education for Conservation: A great way for children and adults to see native Western Australian wildlife they would not normally see.

The Education Team conduct sessions at Kanyana's onsite Education Centre or visits schools and community facilities with their Education for Conservation van. The 'hands on' approach provides an up-close experience with animals such as Echidnas, Tawny Frogmouth, Stimson python, frogs, a Bilby or a possum. This is a powerful educational tool which changes attitudes for life. Sessions can be tailored for primary school to high school aged students as well as adults. Some of the packages available cover topics such as Endangered Species or Wildlife in your Garden. Contact Kanyana to book your Education for Conservation session.

Core Cider House

Climb aboard the “Apple Express” for a fully guided apple orchard and cidery tour.  When available, you can “Pick Your Own” – plums in summer, apples, pears and persimmons in autumn and citrus fruits in winter.

Open Studios

Kalamunda Open Studios is an event held every year in October up in the Perth Hills.  

Professional artists open their studios to the public for conversation, information and art sales. The Kalamunda area has a very large and diverse population of artists who enjoy the lifestyle and find inspiration for their work in this creative community.


Maps are usually available from September and can be downloaded from the website (link below) or collected from the Zig Zag Cultural Centre,  City of Kalamunda offices (located at 2 Railway Road, Kalamunda) and many local businesses.
