Rock'n'Roll Mountain Biking crew is hosting a series of rides for families through the  undulating Mountain Bike tracks around Kalamunda and Pickering Brook. 

Something for all ages.

Self Guided Walking Tour Spring is one of our favourite seasons with stunning apple, pear and plum blossoms abound. The bees are doing their thing by pollinating the trees, leaves are growing and fruit is forming. It’s a time for new beginnings and a gorgeous time to visit the orchard!

Location:

Walk 2km to a typical Bibbulmun Track campsite to meet the friendly native creatures from Kanyana Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre.

Ideal for kids 5 – 12 yrs. Watch their faces light up as they interact and learn about our native animals.

Return following the Waugal trail markers at dusk.

Max 2 kids per adult. Max two adults per child. 1hr from Perth. Not suitable for pushchairs.

Don't forget your torch!

All children must be accompanied by an adult.

Crash Course Comedy Workshop

Location:

A workshop program for students (years 7 – 12) developed by the Melbourne International Comedy Festival. This workshop is facilitated by a professional comedian (resourced and trained by the Festival’s Education and Development department). Participants will use artistic activities such as drama, performance, and writing to hone their comedic talent, build self-esteem, confidence, and resilience, and find their voice and articulate their perspectives. The session includes warm-up/games and activities, as well as storytelling/sketch exercises. No pre-preparation or materials are required.

Bibbulmun Blossoms

Location:

Come and learn about the many wildflowers in bloom on a guided walk (8km with some steep hills) near Kalamunda this spring. Our guides will assist you to identify the flora along the way. 

A copy of Wildflowers of the Northern Bibbulmun Track and Jarrah Forests is included. A good level of fitness is required and experience walking on rough and rocky trails.

Fairy Afternoon Tea

Join Artemis and other Observatory fairies for a tour of the observatory and try to find all the fairy doors, then enjoy afternoon tea with lots of fairy treats. Come dressed as a fairy, forest sprite, elf, pixie, or any magical creature and get involved with exploring the magical places of this lovely, safe environment.

Photographing Gas Giants Workshop

Wednesday, 13 October 2021 7.00pm - 10.00pm

Location:

Using the telescopes of the Perth Observatory, with camera adaptors supplied, to connect your camera to our telescopes. You will record raw footage of the planets and take that away with you to process and show your friends & family. There will be Four telescopes that the 12 people will be rotated between, allowing plenty of time to capture your images, share techniques with participants, try out your camera on different telescopes, and more.
